I spent all day Sunday giving in to the reality of oncoming winter and working outside -- cleaning gutters, putting plastic on windows and covering the air conditioner, raking leaves and such. For some reason I really hate doing the plastic; I think because it's an admission that the Evil Season is really coming, and there's nothing I can do about it. Between that and the sudden realization that I got no Halloween chocolate this year, I was a little down. Not as much as you'd think, though: I did get out into the sun, and it's nice to be able to accomplish something you can actually see.
Good luck to everyone doing NaNoWriMo this year! I'm not doing it myself, but I'll have my hands full with a dozen other projects, so I won't be able to comment on all your update posts. Go to it -- bring us the next generation of great novels!
