Once again I'll be -- not disappearing, but perhaps becoming more transparent? -- for awhile. I'm going to be the lead instructor for a firefighter certification class, which I expect will take the rest of the year and into the early part of 2010. We've got a good group of instructors who will be working on this together, so it won't be as time consuming for me as past classes; still, since I had no free time to speak of anyway, things will get tight. (If I should hear back from a publisher in that time, things may get VERY tight.)
So my commenting will be light, and there may even be some times when I get too busy to catch up on my friends' posts. Please, if there's some news you think I should know of, feel free to send me an e-mail -- I'm not going away, just busying myself with a few extra chores. I'll keep you posted on how it's going! And I'll be posting my column, of course.
Meanwhile, I finally got a review on "Did I Fall Asleep?" over on fanfiction.net, and just to cheer myself up a bit I'm reposting it here. Sadly, the reviewer didn't leave a link, so if they happen to be reading this: thanks!
Oh my dear and fluffy lord!!
I must admit that when I started reading this I found it rather confusing, and almost lost interest. ALMOST. I'm so very glad I didn't let my short attention span get the better of me, because this whole thing was just (as the 9th Doctor would have it) FANTASTIC!
I couldn't believe that there were so many crossovers of my fav shows! Big Bang Theory, Dollhouse, Firefly, Doctor Who, Terminator and even a mention of Buffy (or did I imagine that in my joy?)
This is a very clever fanfic, and the most amazing thing about this was how you managed to keep the 'voice' of all characters concerned. Every character, even the OC Kilo, were true to their show. And on top of this was the humor that I really enjoyed! I rather liked this line:
'The weird one posited a scenario in which Terminators might be sent back, posing as Terminator actors, to wipe out humanity'
because it just sounds like something the boys from Big Bang would say.
Congrats on a magnificent fic!! It certainly took my breath away. In fact, it seems to be appealing too much to my dreams, so that when I finished, I had to ask myself ... 'Did I fall asleep?'
