I thought about getting a ticket to Charlie Sheen's stage show ... then I thought I'd save money by going down to the railroad crossing and waiting for a train wreck there, instead.
The thing about Charlie Sheen is that he's no doubt always been this way, but we just didn't see it. I'm not sure if that means he was a master of disguise back in the day or we just weren't paying attention. (Probably the latter in my case.) Does this mean his entire life has been one long midlife crisis, I wonder.
I'm not sure he's always been quite this bad; I think his condition may have been worsened over the last several years by a combination of middle age crazy, swelled head from having a huge hit show, and the continuing deterioration from drug abuse. However, he grew up in a Hollywood family and got into the business young, which probably means he was screwed up to some extent from the get-go. Certainly he's been a woman abuser for a very long time, and I have absolutely no use for men who think it's macho to hit women.
True on all points. I tend to think he's a cautionary tale about/example of what happens when a self-medicating hard narcissist gets all of his overblown expectations and enormous sense of entitlement fulfilled.

Well, maybe I'm being too hard on myself -- but I did have a lot of overblown expectations.
