The Noble County Relay For Life has only half the teams needed for this year’s event, which takes place May 14-15 at the West Noble High School south of Ligonier.

22 teams are returning this year, and 5 new ones have registered, but the goal of 55 teams has been set for the American Cancer Society fund raiser. Teams can register online at www.relayforlife.org/noblecountyin.

For more information, contact Sara Jackson at Jackson-sara.jackson@cancer.org or Ed Anderson at (260) 693-2338, or by e-mail at eanderson@nobleco.org.

Anyone who knows of someone newly diagnosed with cancer, or a cancer victim recently deceased, is asked to contact the Relay’s Survivorship chair, Cholene Anderson, at (260) 693-3433.

Relay Committee and Team members are working hard to reach this year’s goal of raising $55,000, and details of the 2011 Relay are coming together. More help is always needed, and especially more teams to accomplish the main point of raising funds for cancer research and services.  Three corporate sponsors have signed on so far: Community State Bank, Parkview Noble Hospital, and Silgan Plastics.

The next Relay meeting is April 21, at the main branch of the Noble County Public Library in Albion. The Planning Committee meets at 6:30 p.m., and Team Captains at 7:30. Bank night this year is May 11.
