ozma914: (Winter hatred)
( Feb. 21st, 2011 05:37 am)

Hardly any snow here (it's snowing heavily just north of us), but the temperature's hovering near freezing, the roads are greasy, and vehicles are sliding off right and left. Do NOT go out this morning unless you absolutely have to, and even then think twice. Do NOT be so moronic as to think the speed limit means anything except what speed not to drive at. We've already had one injury this morning; we don't need any more. Ice is accumulating, so expect downed trees and power outages.

On the brighter side, the 3-5 inches of snow predicted for later today and tonight should make things all freshly white again, a few days after it all pretty much melted off in close to record high temperatures. This is pretty much typical for Indiana this type of year.

Also, Emily reports 4-5 leaks in the kitchen ceiling. Which is also pretty much typical.  It's my fault, for spending only several hours patching the roof last fall.

Here's the funny part: Conditions are substantially worse north of here. The worst of this storm has hit the upper Midwest, and we're just catching the edge of it.

*sob*

EDIT: Now up to 4-6 inches of snow today and tonight.
