I've found that my writing has changed in the last few years, probably because I haven't had as much time to write and/or have been doing more of other things. I used to write really clean, full rough drafts that just needed a bit of polish and/or filling out, usually towards the end when I was rushing to finish. The last few stories I've written have needed massive edits, though, so I've taken out 10k, then added in a completely different 10k.

But I do like to edit after the draft has gotten cold, and if I've got the time, I prefer to edit as I go, which is one of the reasons my rough drafts have been clean in the past but have been far rougher recently.
