I lean heavily anti-politically correct, so in my first draft I didn't worry about pronouns at all. But since that discussion wasn't the point, I just went in and removed most of them on the second draft.

Anyway, while I think the term phobia is used too often these days, it's entirely appropriate in this case. Say what you want about Jenner these days; those medals were earned back then.
